THE FUTURE OF INTERIOR DESIGN – KEEPING AHEAD OF LONDON MARKET

The Future of Interior design – What we do to keep ahead of the London market.

Interior design is a highly competitive field, and you may wonder what makes a successful practice? Temza Interior Design and Build Studio was founded in 2012, and up to date, we have delivered more than 50 top-quality residential and commercial interior, design and build projects. Amongst many were featured in top interior design publications such as Home & Garden and quoted as a reference as leading Interior Design company in London. Today we will share a few industry tips with you to explain how we stay relevant and keep ahead of the market.

Keep an eye on Interiors trends, materials and consumers needs.

London Design Week: Focus’ 19

Open House Living etc. 2019

This one could almost link to good marketing. Still, it is vital to “know your market”, and that means keeping in touch with product manufacturers, journalists, top interior designers, art and design circles to get inspired for current or future projects. We keep an eye on trends, brands and products.

How do we do that? Our interior designers have three procedures and methods to take:

We visit key trade fairs in Europe to discover novelties and network with key players in the industry. Our current favourites are Decorex (London), Salone del Mobile (Milan), Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Maison & Object (Paris). Our interior design team believe the importance of this step is fundamental, as we are present and have first-hand testing on potential products.

We read specialised press print or digital, as research and knowledge are essential to get ahead. With the information and inspiration we consume, we allow ourselves to discuss options with clients and let them have an insight into what is current and how it may be beneficial to them.

We are present on Social Media and follow key accounts too. The idea is to keep in touch with consumer trends and get inspired by other Interior influencers. You may follow our Instagram page in order to keep on the know about our visits, services, selections and projects!

Technology 3D Laser Scanning applied to Interior Design

Point Cloud Model – Lakemore

This technology is relatively recent for residential or commercial projects use but has been around for many years in construction and engineering projects.

With the help of a 3D laser scanner, we produce the most accurate 3D models and plans of existing spaces. This allows us to create precise and detailed design plans and technical elevations, which is what clients seek while working on any building site or project.

How 3D Laser Scan works?

A 3D Laser Scanner captures a physical object’s exact size and shapes into a computerised image as a digital 3-dimensional representation. Effectively, the scanner would create a 3D model of a room or the entire space. It is not always explored due to its cost; therefore, it is typically recognised for larger residential projects or commercial projects which require a full design & build service.

Temza Interior Design Studio offers this service for the majority of projects. Using this technology, we minimise errors or any oversights in the near future as the 3D imagery created and produced are exact and accurate.

Use of Modern Space Planning Tools with Computer-Aided Design programs

Minimizing human error as much as possible, efficient design process and satisfactory results are essential aspects here at Temza Interior Design Studio in London.

Our interior designers produce very detailed technical drawings, such as floor plans, elevation, sections, electrical drawings, joinery drawings with CAD Planning Tools in every project as a standard.

We have developed the whole system and, with a high level of standard, our interior design team keeps improving continuously.

Mostly using AutoCAD at our interior design studio, on occasion, we also use Revit when required. These software’s are most popular within the industry and are used by interior designers, architects, project managers and civil engineers. They provide and acquire high-level technical detail.

Visualisation of Design

Helping the client to visualise a future design can be a tricky task and communication only goes to a certain point. Therefore, we developed the whole approach on how our interior designers help clients to receive the space they like and enjoy, through various types of visualisations.

Lakemore Digital Mood Board

Lakemore Physical Mood Board

Starting with very detailed and thought through mood boards, computerised and physical. We are setting up the mood and helping clients understand their likes and dislikes, perceiving the idea at an emotional level. Mood boards are a high starting point as you trust your eye of detail to visualise what works well with what, regarding finishes, texture, colour and material.

2D Drawings and Elevations – Lakemore

2D Visualisation of current project

Then we offer the range of 2D visualisations, which includes 2D drawings and elevations with photoshop elements. The idea is to show different levels of interior design to have a better grasp of the concept. Also, it helps our interior designers think closely on space, measurements and create an idea on what key items we should focus on and their placement.

Finally, we deliver Virtual Reality images

Lakemore CGI

Furthermore, at Temza London for our projects, we produce CGIs (Computer Generated Images) or also known as 3D Room Visualisation and renderings. Based on all information received and clients feedback collected during the earlier stages of the interior design process, we can generate digital images which look as close as possible to a real photograph of their completed project.

This requires a different computer program, and the level of precision is truly impressive. Clients love to be able to see a visual representation of what their home will look like once the project is completed. And, rightly so as we would be able to plan and apply the changes which may not be entirely satisfactory once the project has been delivered. 3D rendering images are increasingly used in extensive furniture catalogues as they are easier to create than investing in lifestyle photoshoot pictures where expenses are spent on accessories etc.

In terms of going the extra mile, here at Temza Interior Design Studio, you can count on us and rely on our services!

We believe there can be an emotional aspect to it too. It is a great way to keep clients motivated and engaged with the end goal, especially when we work on a large-scale project requiring the client to move out of its property for some time. Both parties should experience being passionate and delighted for their project, as we can inspire, share ideas and together create something wonderful and stimulating!
